Solomon's Tale: The Doctor's Apprentice.Edit
Author's note: Despite the heavy sexual content of the game, I toned down the sexual stuff. I'm just not into writing the stuff. At least yet. Also, I'm a terrible writer. At least in my personal opinion.
The setting is two years before the start of Luka's journey. I try my best to follow the cannon of all three chapters.
Also, yes, Promestein is mai waifu. Deal with it.
Note: This is a re-upload to put the entirety of the story into 1 blog post. I'll be doing this for both books 1 and 2.
Prologue: The Fateful Meeting.
My name, is Solomon. I'm a young man of 19 from Port Natalia. I'm a tall, average built man with short, nearly spiked hair and wearing glasses. Trained long and arduously for the day of my baptism and to be finally among the heroes of the land. Or so I thought as the day I was to receive said baptism, I was stricken with a horrible stomach virus and was bedridden for a few days.
"Heh.. What terrible luck." I said to myself laying in my bed of my small house. A fake hero if you would call it that. Though I've done odd jobs here and there as a swordsman at arms , I cannot call myself a hero technically. Though an innkeeper when I stayed at Iliasburg did tell me that the actions of one determine if they are or aren't a hero. But I did hear rumors baptized heroes have looked more and more... disappointing. Though not to brag, compared to some baptized warriors I have held off the local wild monsters much better. I mostly do it in self defense.
One of my jobs on this day would change my life. One to investigate a strange manor which some young men, and women, disappeared when entering. Rumors of ghosts kept coming up. So I just had to do the right thing as it's said many men come back tormented and filled with nightmares leaving them unable to work. So I packed my bag, grabbed my blade, and caught a cart to San Ilia. Little did I know, my life was about to change. For better or for worse was up to debate.
"So where you headed?" Said the cart driver. "I often have you catching rides to various places in Southern Sentora Mr... What was it again?"
"Solomon, and to San Ilia. I'll be sure to pay by the way." I happily say to the cart driver Theodore. We met a few times and he's helped me get around a lot in my work for hire times.
"Ah right! Mr. Solomon!" He chuckled. Mr. Solomon was what some folks called me. Though I can't do the 'Mr. Solomon is my father routine.' as my father, Sir Tom as he was known to be addressed as, is a retired hero. Many don't know this because often I was compared to him. Especially growing up and preparing for my missed baptism.
The cart arrived in San Ilia and I gladly paid the gentleman for the ride. The gorgeous castle and the town surrounding it were all too familiar. I come and go here regularly. Thankfully the cart wasn't stopped to deal with a local lamia that often stops male travelers for a meal this time. Though she came the last three times in a row. Thankfully we fled before she got angry each time.
I checked my supplies and decided to head towards the manor in daytime. Not about any ghost paranoia, just it's best to approach possible undead monster habitats during the daytime. While walking by I see a strange man promoting what appeared to be bottled water at his shop. Seems to be making some profit as many seemingly frightened passerby's are buying it.
"Excuse me sir," he said smiling, "Might I interest you in some Anti-ghost water?" He shows me a bottle similar to the 'Ilias Anti-monster Holy Water' some nut job from Ilias Kreuz tried scamming people for back in the day.
"Ghosts? I don't think actual spirits haunt here." I spoke to him confident, there are Ghost Girls, and you can raise Zombies using magic. I've read enough Monster Encyclopedias to know some ghost sightings are energy reviving undead or forming into monsters.
"Ah but you are wrong. The manor is full of them. Including the spirit of a young girl who once lived in the manor." He mentions the story of the young wealthy girl Frederika who died of an illness which caused her family to abandon their manor out of depression.
Though I think for a moment, as most of the rumors and the job request mention her being seen, I shake my head and decline; "No thanks, if things go wrong I know when to turn around and retreat." Still feeling confident, I continue before it gets too close to sunset. I arrive at the manor and stare at the window on the first story, just faintly I see a young girl walking by.
"A little girl? Seems the ghost was just a girl calling this place home." I approach the door but just before I open it, I hear a faint conversation. I quickly go to a broken window on the side and hide listening and watching. As the young girl and what sounds like an older woman are talking.
"It seems everything here is running smoothly Chrome. Excellent work." Came from the older voice. A woman with long brown hair, a soulless gaze, and a lab coat. Occasionally various noises could be heard in the distance, I ignored them and focused on the two inside.
"Yes. And soon my experiments shall be complete thanks to your help." I see the young girl as she spoke, looking different than a normal girl. Her dark nurse-like outfit and hat, different skin tone, small horns, and strange eyes. This wasn't a human girl, from this perspective, a younger succubus. But a powerful one, I sense some power from her. "And my masterpiece, Frederika, is reaching flawless form. This manor was an excellent laboratory." I hear the name of the girl who died here a long time ago. I look around the lobby of the mansion, but I don't see Frederika around.
I realized now, this girl, was a necromancer. Those moans and howls, the supposed spirits and disappearances. Zombies and their victims. As for the doctor, it seems she is a leader in this, aiding the girl in her experiments. A potential zombie army could conquer the continent if it's not stopped. I have to warn the king, he'll send back-up. Troops that can aid me in stopping this. I quickly stand and begin to run back to town. But sadly, I should've stayed hidden.
"It seems we have an eavesdropper." said the Doctor as she snapped her fingers, suddenly my path was cut off by what appeared to be a harpy. But it was different, strange metallic structure and appearance, it seemed lifeless yet very powerful. Not undead like the necromancer's creation, mechanical and organic at the same time.
"Where do you think you're going. You'd never escape with speed like that." Said the harpy, blocking my path ready to dart in any direction I turn instantly.
"Excellent work Hainuwelle. Your speed will soon surpass the Succubus Queen once I finish my experiments." The doctor said walking out the manor. The young girl, Chrome as I heard, stood in the doorway smiling. "Now then, who are you?" She examines me, I reach for my sword when she smirks. "I wouldn't if I were you, you'd rather be alive correct?" I look behind me seeing the harpy, Hainuwelle, readying her talons. My speed would never be enough, so I stand still at least to preserve my own life.
"Look, I was taking the task of the manor disappearances, I promise to keep this all secret if you spare me." I never back down from my word. But I don't think two beings with experimental intentions would bother trusting me.
"Smart man, but I believe something can be done to ensure you won't talk." The doctor looks back to Chrome.
"I have plenty of test subjects here, but he is unbaptized so I'm sure his energy would fuel my zombies greatly." I immediately shudder hearing Chrome. Feeding zombies, my own energy? I'd sooner take my chances in a one on one with the strange harpy creature.
"Surely that isn't necessary," I panic and sweat as I say, "I'm Solomon, traveling arms for hire," At least when I think I'm ready to travel beyond Southern Sentora. "I'm sure we can work out a sort of deal to spare my life and keep this meeting a secret."
However neither the Doctor or the Necromancer seem convinced. My fate is sealed, either as a zombie's sextoy, a necromancer's test dummy, or a mechanical harpy's victim. The doctor looks at me however, and smirks. "I normally never would think of this," she suddenly said, "but I must ask, when you travel, are you fascinated with what you see?"
I couldn't believe it, suddenly someone interested in my traveling? Well I think it would delay my death, or worse, so I decided to tell her; "Actually, I never traveled the world like I dreamed to. So many places, so many people. I was never baptized and was training and raising the money to begin an expedition to eventually reach Hellgondo and face the Monster Lord. But I'd definitely be fascinated by this world. And would be interested in learning many secrets along the way."
The doctor nodded. "You wish to travel this world, seek out its secrets and learn everything about it. All while pursuing every one of those heroes goals." She shook her head, "I wouldn't waste time going after the Monster Lord as you are, but your dream of learning the mysteries of the world intrigues me."
I couldn't believe it, my dream of knowledge was being acknowledged for once. Most people just called me weird but she just brightened up this grim situation. "Thanks! May I ask for your name?" I curiously asked.
"My name is Promestein," She looked at me as she said, "I gave the humans fire." she looked back at Chrome and said, "Not to worry Chrome, this man will be coming with me. He, like us, seeks the truth."
"Aww man! He seemed perfect too." She said irritated, as her newest experimental guinea pig was taken away.
"What? I'm coming with you?" I said shocked. But where?
"To my lab of course, you share an ambition similar to that of my subordinates. We serve the Goddess and pursue our ambitions. 'The Seekers of Truth' who wish to learn the secrets of existence." As Promestein spoke, I couldn't believe it. A group of individuals pursuing the world's greatest secrets. It's amazing. Though my curiosity would never go that far. "Now then Solomon, would you come with me to my lab, and join me as an apprentice of sorts? If you choose not to, Chrome may decide to chase you down and keep you as her own." As she said that, Chrome smiled and I knew full well it was like we both read her mind.
I nodded and happily said; "Yes, I'll help anyways I can and learn alongside you and the other Seekers of Truth." Fascinated by her words, she smirked as she began chanting, suddenly I saw her transparent angel wings and halo, shocked by the appearance and beauty. A real angel. Suddenly we warped away from the manor. And the rest of my life, as Promesteins apprentice, assistant, and sadly test subject, began.
Chapter 1: The Laboratory.
After a flash we arrived at a strange laboratory. I was immediately startled by the sound of screaming and pleas for mercy. Staying close to Promestein, I followed her as she moved down a corridor.
"What's with all the crying and screaming?" I asked nervously.
Without even looking back at me she stated; "What you will be if you don't follow orders." Even more shocking then their cries for help was how cold she had said it. Immediately showing how lucky I am. She led me to a large circular room with strange machinery and pointed at what appeared to be a young girl standing near several tubes and machines. "Head over there, I'll have Laplace scan you first."
"Laplace?" I walk towards the figure as it turned, a strange circular device for eyes she observed me.
"Welcome back Promestein, who is this?" She said as she observed me, I stood still frightened yet also amazed. "Another test subject?"
"No, this is Solomon, he will be serving us for the time being. However, if he does not satisfy what we need, then you may do what you like with him." Promestein said. "I will send him to the domains of the Spirits for the extraction mission. Perhaps he may help accelerate our plans."
I managed to calm myself down and nod to Promestein, aware of what I must do. "Ready to serve then... Master Promestein." I nervously called her master, assuming it was proper as it's either loyalty or death.
"Excellent, your quarters are down this hallway, 3rd door to the right. Do not go anywhere else unless ordered. Tomorrow I will send you back to San Ilia for your first mission. For now, leave your belongings to Laplace and head to your quarters to rest." Promestein ordered. As I calmly walked to my quarters, wondering where this place was, and curious to explore the area. Laplace continued to observe me as I headed towards my quarters.
"Promestein, this man seems to have above-average abilities compared to other soldiers we have acquired." Laplace reported. "Unbaptized as well, examining his belongings I found multiple maps, monster encyclopedias with notes and edits, and journals." Laplace continued to examine the belongings. "We are clearly dealing with an observant individual, experienced in combat and preparations.
"A Sword-for-hire that does his homework..." Promestein said as she smirked, "Very interesting. Perhaps we can test his knowledge. We will send him to the Forest of Spirits tomorrow morning. Give him the Elemental Extractor and instructions for the job."
Arriving at my quarters I close the door behind me, footsteps soon followed as they stopped seemingly before the door. "Hello? Who is there?" I called out.
"I am called Knightroid. Do not think of exiting this room unless instructed." A voice called out to me.
"Alright then." I walked to my new bed and laid down sighing. Unable to believe in such a short time my life ended up changing. My quarters seem like a prison cell. White metallic walls, metal flooring, a bed you'd find at a shaggy hospital, and not much else. I slowly dozed off and fell to sleep.
The next morning I woke up shocked to see this wasn't a dream. I dressed myself and walked to the door. Knocking at it to check for the guard. The door slid open as the guard, appeared to be a knight with a massive lance, stood to the side and stared at me.
"Head to the central command room. I have my eye on you." Said Knightroid as I walked to the command room followed by her. She soon stopped as I continued into the room and turned around walking back. Immediately upon entering, I find Laplace.
"Good morning Solomon. Are you ready for your mission briefing?" She said looking at me.
"Well as long as there's breakfast. However I'm sure that can wait." I said rubbing the sleep out of my eyes.
"Firstly, what do you know of the San Ilia area?" She asked.
"Easy, southern Sentora, monsters occasionally wonder near the walls. Few enter the city as they have a strict 'No monsters' law due to its heavy religious influence. I've never entered the castle myself. To the north is the Forest of Spirits." Laplace stops me before I continue.
"And the forest? Tell me what you know there." She requested I move onto the Forest of Spirits. Without hesitation I explain what I know
"Well mercenaries and other blade-for-hires discuss dangerous jobs there. From research it's home to Alraunes, Elves, and most notoriously Fairies and supposedly the Spirit of Wind, Sylph. I've never been there myself. However I've noted key information about it in my journals."
"Correct. We've examined your encyclopedias on monsters, various maps, and journals. You were prepared to travel to many locations. This is perfect considering your missions." She handed me my backpack and a strange device. "This is an Elemental Extractor. It absorbs and replicates Elemental Energies. You're mission, forced to accept it, is to enter the Forest of Spirits and extract Wind energy from Sylph's domain. We have prepared your pack with your supplies and your blade as well. I recommend minimal force however.
"Wait, you want me to enter a forbidden forest and find Sylph and steal her power? I can't possibly do that." I protest.
"Not directly. Within her domain the device will begin to detect and absorb the needed energy. Your job is to take it to the needed location, guard it, and return to base when it's finished. You should not directly confront Sylph." Laplace continued.
"Well still, Elves guard the forest and Fairies might mess with the machine. I clearly have to be stealthy. Which is difficult. Elves have adept senses compared to humans. But I'll do my best as no is not an option." I agree anyways. Though it will let me return home anyways.
"Very good. Also, the device traces your location." Laplace began to warn me; "It will also signal if you've failed your task or left it somewhere like to return to your home. You go AWAL on us, we'll track you down and bring you back by force. It's either to this task, or betray us and be finished by our creations, or Promestein might personally drain you dry herself." Laplace then shouted; "Do not even think about it you pervert!" Noticing my blush thinking of Promestein personally draining me.
"Yes Master Laplace. But how will I get there and back? I don't even know where this place is." I said wondering.
"I will not disclose the location of the Drain Lab. The device also signals when your task is complete. We will send you to the outskirts of the Forest and when it's completed we will retrieve you." Laplace said.
"Very well!" I said and grabbed my supplies. "I will perform this mission. Wish me luck!"
"You are pushing the luck you have now. Off you go now." Laplace stated and soon activated some device as I flash away. Off to my first mission.
Chapter 2: A Forest of Wind. Don't Anger the Fairies.
After a bright flash I arrived in the outskirts of the Forest of Spirits. Checking the device in my hand I see its light flashing green and a small bar on the side slowly filling. "Oh I guess I just have to wait for it to fill while searching the forest." As I walked into the forest carefully, the frequency of the light flash increased slowly. "Hmm, so it's energy absorbing is based on the amount of energy in the vicinity. So I should find a safe area where it will take energy fast." I immediately decided to slowly walk my way through the forest. Avoiding monster contact as the Elemental Extractor absorbs Sylph's wind energy. I hear giggling and immediately hide behind a tree. I see two fairies fluttering around playing.
"What should we do today?" Asked the first one.
"Let's check on big sis! Maybe she will play with us!" The other said as they both rushed through. I carefully observe them as they leave deeper into the forest. This 'Big Sis' must be a local Elf or an Alraune. I head deeper into the forest northwest as the fairies headed northeast. As I step near a flower I jump up at a shout "Be careful!"
"Ah! Who goes there?" I take a few steps back and look down, seeing a small fairy fly up to me.
"You almost stepped on this flower. You have to be careful." She pointed at a small blue flower.
"Oh man, I'm sorry. I'll avoid stepping on flowers or fairies sitting near them too." I apologized. I don't hate monsters, and it was a pretty blue flower. They were just tending to the forest.
"Thank you!" She shouted a smiled. Other fairies flew up and waved at me. I smiled and accepted their thanks and friendship. Holding out my pinky to shake their hands. I waved them goodbye and headed onward, avoiding other flowers keeping a promise to them. Avoiding a nasty confrontation with multiple fairies.
I continued until I approached a tree and sat at the base of it. Placing the machine next to me as I rested. The green bar was at least halfway full and building fast. I pulled out a journal from my pack and began writing of my journey in this forest. Admiring the beauty of nature and relaxing. Suddenly, my peaceful moment was interrupted by an arrow to the tree as an elf approached me.
"Humans are not allowed here! That was your warning shot." She declared, readying another arrow at her bow. I look at the device and see the meter is still building fast, thinking quickly. I figured out that a method of stalling is the best method. As if I can accomplish my task, Laplace will retrieve me and I can leave the forest unharmed.
"Please understand I.." I look to my journal and show her it. "I'm a traveling artist! I go to beautiful places in the world, noting down the beauty of nature and drawing the scenery." As I mention this the elf takes my journal and flips through the pages. It's a spare empty notepad, so nothing else can be revealed here. "I merely entered this forest to note the beauty of nature, and the playful spirits of the fairies. I met some earlier, we exchanged handshakes and 'thanks' for not damaging the flowers." That was the truth however. She handed me the journal and kept her bow ready.
"If that is true, than you are not a human of bad intentions." She paused and looked at my sword. "What is the weapon for then?"
I panic seeing my sheathed sword and turn to her and decided to tell her; "Some monsters are too forceful. Hostile beings that attack first, this is to scare them off and defend myself. I would never draw a blade against an innocent being. I will leave the forest now. However I seem to be lost. Would you lead the way?" I actually told the truth on that one again. I have no idea where I'm at. I grabbed my supplies and the device.
"Follow me then, and don't wander off!" She stated and held me at bow point as I walked at her side. She led me south towards the edge of the forest. The device was nearly completely full. She walked ahead to lead the way, looking back at me frequently. As the meter filled completely, the quiet walk was interrupted by a strange voice.
"Elemental Extraction process complete. Returning to headquarters." The Elf turned and readied her bow.
"What the hell? What is that- " But before she can finish her question, I found myself and the device I was holding get taken in by a flash of light. Suddenly I am back at the Laboratory.
"Ah Solomon, well done." Promestein stood taking the device from my hands. "I see you managed to extract Sylph's energy without much trouble. I expected it to take longer. I also expected you to flee to your home."
"Well I nearly had a confrontation with an Elf. But here it is." I said as I looked at the extractor.
"Return to your quarters. We have more assignments for you. But for now, rest." She ordered.
"Wait when can I return home? I have friends and family probably worried about me." I asked.
"We shall see. For now, just rest." Promestein ordered. And without protest I returned to my quarters. Awaiting my next mission.
After two days time, I was lead to a testing facility. There awaited Promestein.
"Good morning Solomon, I requested your services in the testing facility. Now then," She grabbed a strange syringe, "Hold still and take this for me."
"Wait... what's that?" I asked. Slowly approaching her.
"This is the fruits of your labor the other day." She pricked me with the needle as the green liquid entered my body. "An artificial creation using the power of Sylph. It should take effect now."
I stay still waiting for it to take effect as she said. But in my head something appeared and it looked at me as if waiting for me to speak up. "Master Promestein, do you see the gray fairy right there?" I pointed at it. It didn't respond or move.
"Aha! A resounding success. Meet Zylph, the Artificial Spirit of Wind. I must begin gathering resources for mass-production. For now let's test her powers out." She pointed to the other side of the massive room. "Call upon her power and run to the end of the room and back. I will time your speed."
"Like this? Aid me Zylph!" As I said that, a rushing wind moved around my body, as if pushing me. Feeling lighter and faster. I used this wind and sprinted even faster than I could ever perform before. As I sprinted back, I stopped without much trouble. "Woah! Awesome!"
"Good, you didn't fly into the walls or ceiling." Promestein said clocked my time. "And an impressive feat for mere human limitations. Zylph will heighten your speed greatly. Dodging and Striking quickly will be much easier. However you must balance the speed and your power. Otherwise the strikes will be swift but weak."
I drew my blade and stepped into the room practicing with my wind-enhanced combat abilities. Noticing a significant increase in combat skill. "Amazing!" I shouted, "I feel like I could take on anything!"
"Don't push your luck Solomon." Promestein stared at me coldy, "You're just one man, and not everything needs speed to deal with. You couldn't even hold against the creatures of Hellgondo much less the Heavenly Knights." What she said lowered my confidence, but was true. "And no bright ideas of treason. You're still quite weak compared to my soldiers."
"Well are there others? There are four of the Spirits right? I bet if we can get the other three we could combine them." I suggested.
Promestein looked at me and began to speak; "That's where you will come in. I have much more research and development to perform and you need to gather what I need. You will be sent to Safina Desert for your next missions." As she spoke, one of her artificial monsters came in carrying several crates on a cart and the Elemental Extractor. "These are tech for an agent of mine, Lily in Witch Hunt village. First, you must deliver them to her manor. Do not worry about any rumors you have heard there. You simply tell them you were sent by her provider. Then, you must head to the ruins north and defend the Extractor as it takes in the energy of Gnome, Spirit of Earth. Understand?"
"Yes Master Promestein." I agreed reluctantly. I've been to Sabasa a few times in my life and being around other people again will ease my mind. I head to the tech and device and turned to Master Promestein. "Thanks again for allowing me this opportunity, it's forced missions but I get to see the world."
Promestein nodded; "Just go already. And be sure to come back." As she said that I get warped away to my next objective.
Chapter 3: The Desert Sands. A Witch hunting Witches?
I arrived at the outskirts of a small town. Placing the extractor in my backpack I grabbed the cart and began pushing it. The town seemed quiet despite being the afternoon. The people just did their daily routines not even talking to others. I see a passerby and ask; "Excuse me sir, is this Witch Hunt Village?"
He looked at me, as if afraid of something; "Yes, yes it is, please I have to go I'm....very busy!" He then darted off. Suddenly two guards walked towards me.
"You there! What is with the cart? Are you a Witch?" One shouted. A stupid question, a man would be a Warlock not a Witch.
"Uh no? Oh right! I was sent by the benefactor of Lily. I came to deliver these to her." I answered.
The two guards lowered their guard and turned towards a manor. "Follow us then. Lily's manor is this way." I nodded my head as we walked towards the manor. The guards didn't seem tough however the people of the city immediately fled from them. Normally I'd hate this strange abuse of power however I can't create a ruckus. "Here you are." The guard said as he opened the gate. I walked towards the gate and knocked on the door. Suddenly the door opened as a young woman with long green hair in a green outfit looked at me and smiled.
"My my, have I been sent another Witch? This one seems quite suspicious." She said as she looked up and down my body like I was the last piece of cake at a party.
I didn't know if I was being accused of witchcraft or being handsome. So I simply responded; "No ma'am, my name is Solomon. I was sent to deliver this tech. Are you Lily?"
She smiled at me and stepped to the side. "Why yes I am, come bring them in. My lab is this way." She led me down to her lab. Inside I was shocked to find what her experiments were. Hearing agonized groans of protest from men, I shuddered to see various obviously experimented on women, and unrecognizable tentacle beasts wrapping up and feeding off men endlessly. "Promestein didn't tell me she had a male subordinate. Well, one that wasn't being tortured frequently." She said as I followed her. The women who weren't wrapped around men all stared at me. I nearly jumped ten feet in the air when one charged at her cage door trying to grab me. "Enough! He's not for you!" Lily shouted. "My apologies, they can get so ravenous at times."
"So, the Witches you hunt is just a.." I nervously begin to ask, but she cuts me off;
"Correct." She answered, "A genius plan to exact my revenge, and fuel my knowledge and experiments at the same time." She turned to me, "That isn't a problem is it? Because I would love to have a new subject around here." She threatened me, practically undressing me with her eyes at the same time. "I believe Promestein wouldn't mind if I kept you here for a while."
"No ma'am! It's no problem! Please don't mind me, my lips are sealed!" I quickly answer. Yes it's wrong but at the same time there's not much that can be done even with Zylphe's power.
"Wonderful. Please place the devices here." She said and pointed at a corner where I proceeded to set the tech there. "Would you care to stay for a while Mr. what was your name?" she asked.
I chuckled nervously before speaking; "Solomon, and no thank you madam. I best be off! Which way is the door? Oh nevermind there it is, good day to you!" I turn and walked off quickly. Occasionally jumping as the lust and hunger driven girls try grabbing me again. One in particular being a young woman with a different shade of green hair compared to Lily's. Her tentacle inches from my pants.
"Lucia he's not a prisoner! Let him leave." She shouted as I left the dungeon. "Hmm. Maybe I shouldn't let him leave. But he's done nothing wrong compared to the sick people in this city." She sighed; "It's a shame however."
I immediately head upstairs wiping sweat from my forehead. "Phew... man that was freaky. Wait was that one's name Lucia? She did look attractive.... wait what am I thinking?" Thinking out loud, it's a bad habit especially when my imagination runs wild about sexy monsters. I left the manor. The guards not bothering me at all as I headed towards the outskirts of town.
One guard however noticed me still looking shocked at the mix of horror and slight lust and asked; "Hey there, you alright?"
I looked at him and responded; "Buddy, I just saw something nearly as mind-blowing as the concept of Kinky, Interspecies, Lesbian Monster Sex. Do I look alright?!"
The guard backed off; "Alright man calm down. Wait.. that's a thing?"
"Apparently! I looked it up man." I responded. I then walked off as the guard scratched his head boggled by the fact I just told him. As I assumed Promestein wouldn't just warp me out of there and to my next objective, I headed North utilizing my maps of Safina Desert to head to Sabasa Castle for supplies before heading to Safaru ruins.
Two days later. At the Safaru Ruins.
"Get out of here! And don't bother me again!" I say as I drove off yet another desert monster.
"Too...many...ouchies.." said a massive Sandworm as it retreated. I sat back down next to the rock I set the extractor on. Examining it as it was nearly completed. Having driven off at least four desert monsters using Zylph's power to aid my speed. Despite it weakening my blows, it greatly helped evade powerful attacks and dangers. I drank from my canteen as it seemed like only a few minutes before I'd be back at the lab. However out the corner of my eye, I saw a strange figure look at me before running away.
"What was that?" I thought to myself. It didn't look like a human, however I had to focus on my task at hand. I decided not to chase it. Suddenly another looked at me, only to run as soon as I said a friendly; "Hello?" to it. Having got a better look, it appeared to be a doll of hardened mud. "Hmmm, let's see..." I grabbed my monster encyclopedia and began to search data for anything on a strange mud-doll. After a quick search through I closed the encyclopedia in disappointment. "Nothing. I guess it must be magically created, like that Chrome's zombies. Or Lily's whatever those girls are." As I put away my encyclopedia, the device beeped and announced its completion of extracting Gnome's energy. However just before it and I were transported away, I saw a strange girl with a blank stare holding a mud-doll watching as I disappeared.
As I arrived at the laboratory I was greeted by a familiar voice; "A little longer than expected that time, maybe I'll save you the foot-travel. We are on a schedule you know." said Promestein as I handed her the Extractor.
"I'm sorry. I needed supplies for traversing the desert. I think you grabbed me in time anyways. I could have sworn I saw Gnome just as I was being transported." I explain to her about the little girl.
"How fortunate. She might have caught on to our plan had you stayed longer." Announced Laplace. "Lily has contacted us as well. You were successful in both of your tasks. She even suggested us providing your services more often."
"I'm not going back to Lily's by the way. That woman is creepy!" I objected. "Well I will return to my room for now." I say as I headed back to my room. Noticing I'm no longer being escorted by guards like Knightroid. Although I'm still watched frequently. I head to my room and get some much-needed sleep.
Chapter 4: Mischievous Queen of the Ring and a Mighty Fox Queen.
My days in-between missions are basically chores. Mostly doing lifting and cleaning. While finishing my duties in the Laboratory, I was called to the testing facility once more. There awaited Promestein, holding another needle.
"Hey Doc.." I quickly cover my mouth then resume speaking; "I meant to say; Hello Master Promestein."
Promestein raised an eyebrow at me. "I know I wear a labcoat, but don't call me 'Doc' or 'Doctor'. And especially don't yell 'Hello Nurse!'" She said to me. Overtime I began calling her 'Doc' which seems to bother her. "You are here to test this new artificial Spirit of Earth; Gnomaren. As well as briefing for your next assignments in Grand Noah."
I think to myself and then ask; "You mean Undine right? I have to go to her location. Your notes you left me said she lives in a 'Taboo Spring?'"
Promestein nodded and then began to explain; "Correct. However there has been a change of plans. You see, Undine's Spring is a domain full of Slimes of different variety. Most humans don't even last long down there." She began injecting me with Gnomaren as she resumed explaining. "It also appears that the Heavenly Knight Erubetie often visits there for long periods of time. You are in no condition to take the risks of entering there. As Undine will also constantly watch the areas in the spring. This is mostly for your own safety. But while an agent of our ally gathers Undine's power, you will be doing other assignments in Noah."
As she finished. I began testing Gnomaren's power. Heavily strengthening my attacks as well as enhancing my defensive powers. She also attempted to restrain me using a device. However I broke out of it much easier than it would probably be. "Man I feel stronger now. I wonder... Zylphe aid me!" However Gnomaren's effects disappeared as Zylphe's effects took place. "Aww man!"
"Good hypothesis, however we can't use the Artificial Spirits together. You must chose the appropriate one for the situation at hand." She explained. "Do you understand?"
"Yes Promestein," I began to explain what I know; "Wind based powers heighten speed and evasion yet lower offensive power. So use it on quick opponents with low defenses or a slow, hard hitting foe. While earth's power enhances Strength and Defenses yet lowers speed. Use on slower but stronger foes or foes with fast but weak attacks right?"
Promestein smirked and said; "You seem to know what to do with them. Which is perfect. I need you to go to Grand Noah Coliseum and fight there."
I jump up at the opportunity. "Really? I always wanted to go there!"
"Pervert." Promestein said.
"Why are you calling me that?" I asked.
"Because it's more a Monsters rape Humans show than an arena of Gladiators of course." I was shocked to hear that. First I've heard of this. Then again I've never been to Grand Noah. "However you will be a fighter there. Your opponent to seek is the Heavenly Knight Alma Elma, the Succubus Queen."
"Wait you just said I can't fight Heavenly Knights! Now you want me to.." I begin to protest but before I can finish she cuts me off and says;
"Lose on purpose. You're going to throw the match after I've gathered data on her fighting style. I'll be in the audience observing the fight. Just last until I give you a signal. Then throw the match."
I chuckled before saying; "You're gonna watch men get raped by monsters? You pervert. Wait, doesn't that mean I have to get raped by..."
"Yes, when you lose to her, she's going to rape you." She smirked at me as she said. "Also you have to only lose to her. So you have to defeat every opponent between you and her." It seemed like a great opportunity to test my new powers and strength versus fighters from all over. However having never met the Heavenly Knights. I shudder at what power she might use against me. "Also, " Promestein continued, "You must only use Gnomaren's power against her to withstand her blows and escape her grasps. Fight her without holding back. We need to see how she handles her opponent if they have murderous intent. If you use Zylphe's power however, you may hold against her wind power too well and that could compromise the plan. She might assume you're using the aid of spirits."
I nodded my head, no Zylphe it seems. "Is that all I must do?" I asked.
"I'll explain the rest of your mission afterwards. Now off you go you perverted gladiator." She said with a smirk as she teleported me to Grand Noah.
As I arrived in the big city, I was amazed by the busy streets with both humans and monsters coexisting. Although I saw this on a smaller scale back home, it was never this lively. I looked in wonder as I approached the castle arena to sign up. As I arrived, I saw a glimpse of the competition. Mostly monsters, and a few human men. If what Promestein said was true, these men are in for a harsh punishment if they lose. However judging from the expressions on some of their faces, they're fully aware of it. One approached me as we waited to sign up.
"Hey, first time in the Coliseum? " He asked as he stood by me.
"Yea actually, and you?" I responded.
"I've been here a few times so I know what goes on. I hope you do know what you're getting into right?" He asked.
"Yes, but I'm not afraid. I know I'm at risk of being raped. But I'll give them a real battle. I'm not in it to lose on purpose." I said with confidence. "So who are some key fighters to look out for?" I ask, hoping to get info on Alma Elma.
"Well there are some strong monsters fighting here. You seem confident and you're new so I'll warn you. One monster you want to avoid is Kyuba, the champion. She's unbeatable and man or woman she'll give you one hell of a fight and give you one hell of a ride if you lose." He warned me.
"Kyuba? I'll be on the lookout then." I said to him. Although no information on Alma Elma, I do know I'll have trouble if I have to face the champ before her. I finished my sign ups and proceeded to the waiting area. There I was greeted by Promestein.
"Well, ready for your first fight? I can't spoil who you're fighting apparently." She said.
"Well I got no information on Alma Elma's whereabouts. Only on this champion named Kyuba." I told her.
"Well from our observations, Kyuba is merely an alias. Alma Elma is the champion. So you should be sure to get the champion's attention." She ordered. Then Promestein disappeared. Before I could search for her, a guard walked in the room.
"Solomon? Your first match begins now. Follow me." He said. I grabbed my blade and followed him to the arena. There I was greeted by cheering fans. Or at least cheering female fans. There was few males in the audience. And their cheers were more for me losing from what I'm hearing. The doors at the other end opened, and my first opponent came walking in.
"Ah, another human competitor." Said a lamia as she slithered to the center of the arena infront of me. After a call from the official, our fight began. I immediately took stance and stepped back. Calling upon Gnomaren's power in a quiet tone to not draw attention. The lamia lunged forward attempting to wrap around me. But to her surprise I broke free much easier than she expected. Giving her two empowered strikes with my blade while she was open right in front of me.
"Sorry, but I won't be so easy like any other man you've face." I said as I continued an assault of sword strikes. Withstanding the blows of the Lamia with ease. The crowd was still cheering the lamia on, however after a short battle. The lamia yielded.
"Enough!" She yelled as she winced in pain reeling back. "I surrender!" She said before retreating. I sheathed my blade and looked up at the crowd. Who all seemed disappointed that I won. I walked back to the soldier who led me to my waiting room. And awaited my next match.
Several minutes later. My next match began. This time a Harpy. Using Zylphe's power this time. I dodged her easily. However I couldn't hit her well. I did recall a hero's journal on Harpy fighting strategies. I remembered an important tip; "Harpies often take to the skies to dodge attacks easier. It's best to wait for an opening." And my opportunity came as she knocked me over and straddled my hips. The crowd went nuts as she was actually close to victory. However I struck her with my blade, forcing her off as I quickly dashed to her and pinned her down, holding my blade to her neck.
"Wah! Ok you win! Don't hurt me!" She said. I got off her and she ran off quickly. Once again the crowd booing me for not letting a monster rape me.
"Perverted idiots." I mumbled to myself. I returned to my waiting room. This continued for two more fights. One against a disappointed man who wanted a monster. And the other versus a slime girl who ran away when I started fighting back. When I returned to my room before my next match, a soldier walked up to me.
"Man you're apparently on fire out there. It's rare we see men actually try nowadays." He said complimenting my skills.
"Thanks. You think I'm good enough for the champ?" I asked.
"I doubt it. Although you'd definitely do better than the others. Maybe even better than Dullahan or Cerberus. And they're the Queen's top soldiers." He said. Although he didn't think I'd be good enough for a Heavenly Knight, I was still excited to see my skills being compared to high class monsters like those two. "Your next match is up. Good luck out there."
"Thanks!" I said as I went to the arena. Although this match was set up differently. An announcer now spoke.
"Ladies! This young man has been breezing through the competition!" She shouted out. I looked up at the audience and saw Promestein examining the arena. She didn't seem to be there in the last fights. "Let's give him a round of applause!" despite her suggestion, the females all seemed to be riled up on me losing even more so now. The few men in the audience cheered me on however. "Are you ready for your next fight?!" She asked me.
"Ready for anything!" I shouted.
"Then here she comes! The end to your hot streak! Our undefeated champion! Kyuba!" The audience stood and cheered louder than ever. As the doors opened, the champion, the Heavenly Knight according to Promestein, walked into the arena. A Succubus Queen, A Heavenly Knight, faced me and gave a lewd smile. I immediately felt an intimidating aura as her presence alone was enough to make my legs shake slightly. However my eyes were more fixated on her beauty. It was clear it was impossible to look away from her. The fight had not even began and she was already in a huge advantage. "Now introduce yourself to the champ!" She requested.
"Yes, introduce yourself to me." Alma Elma said with a giggle.
I swallowed my nervousness and began to speak. "The name's Solomon." I nervously said with a chuckle.
"Shy already Solo-boy?" She asked. However despite being nervous she hit a nerve with that 'boy' part and I immediately came back.
"Boy?! Woman do I look like a boy?! The men I saw didn't even try to fight!" I covered my mouth a second too late however. With just one taunt I already knew how she was going to go at me. She's the teasing type. And that is often something I can't tolerate too much of. I had to focus on the task at hand, showing my skills to a Heavenly Knight and aiding in the recording of her battle style. I drew my blade and pointed it at her. She winked at me and began to say.
"Is Solo-boy ready to play? I wonder how I should play with you today." She pondered. Even more lewd was her suggestions; "My hands? Feet? Mouth? Breasts? Or we could skip to anal." After that last one. I just lowered my blade. She teases, but she knows how to cut to a chase when needed. I couldn't help but respond;
"What? We just met. I'm flattered but at least buy me dinner! Maybe do at least something before the anal part like...I don't know maybe those last two?" I protested and began to suggest, but then realized my imaginations running wild again. "No.. no! I'm here to fight!" I pointed my blade back at her. The battle then begun.
I immediately called on Gnomaren. A succubus is known for their numerous sexual techniques and their heavily restraining tail. So resistance of damage is the best strategy. Suddenly, she darts right in front of me almost too fast to comprehend. "Fine then, I'll let you have the first hit Solo-boy. If you can catch me that is." She said with a smile and a wink as she stood in front of me. Waiting for my first move. I tried to quickly strike her but she darted straight back giggling at me. "Too slow. Try again." She taunted. However before I could go after her she began darting all over the place. "I don't know how you learned that Earth power. But it won't work against my wind Solo-boy." Before I could respond she suddenly appeared behind me. I turned to slash her but I only hit an after-image she left.
"Man you're fast!" I said, I have to go about this differently. I kept a facade of trying to hit her after-images as I pondered a solution. "That's it!" I got one, and I know it will work. I just have to give her the opportunity to strike. "Alright Kyuba, this is going nowhere. Why don't you go first?" I said with a smirk. Although an instant loss was my fate if this went wrong I still had to have confidence.
"Fine then Solo-boy. Since you're so eager." She stopped at the edge of the arena and faced me. I turned to her and got in a stance. My strongest technique. My Wing Dash Blade. A straight shot at her as she dashes towards me. She can't react in time if she's in mid-dash and will take all of its power. "Here I come Solo-boy." She sprinted at me. Now or never I had to act with perfect timing.
"And here I come! Take this!" I darted forward and unleashed my technique. Six fast slashes, a successful counter! Only strengthened by Gnomaren's power. The final slash actually forcing her back as she looks at me surprised. The crowd shocked as well. I jumped back and stood at her in a stance. Staring at her like I was trying to seriously injure her.
"He... hit her!" A man shouted.
"Men don't even touch her until they've already lost!" A woman also shouted out. I actually stupefied the entire audience with one successful attack.
"You hit me Solo-boy..." She said as she brushed dust off her mantle. "I see now you're no stranger to a sword. You're also quite smart for that one." She returned to her wink and smiled at me.
"Enough of the boy. I'm pretty sure I'm the only man who'd hit you like that here." I said now confident in a strategy against her. "You play with me, you play rough. Got that?"
"Oh I got it. Enough beating around the bush then. You're definitely going to be a fun person to fight." As she finished speaking, she rushed to me and wrapped me in her tail quickly. My hand near the end of her tail as the crowd went wild.
"She has him now!" One girl shouted.
"No one escapes her tail wrap!" Another shouted.
I looked at her, despite my attempts to seriously wound her she still tries teasing me with sexual skills. I grabbed her tail and used Gnomaren's power to unwind myself. Keeping her tail in my grasp. "Who's got who now?" I said as I pulled her towards me, hitting her stomach with my hilt before striking her again with my blade. I then used her tail to fling her away from me. Feeling extremely confident as I can fight a fast opponent with limited movement. She stumbled back and looked at me surprised.
"My my Solo-boy. You aren't playing around. You could've seriously hurt me." She said. "Perhaps I need to step it up a notch. Just for you" She winked at me. "I just love playing with serious swordsman types." Suddenly the wind power she used felt amplified. "You won't be countering me anymore. Few can even see me at this speed."
I looked up and saw Promestein. She nodded her head to me as she said. "Finish it already!" Without a doubt I assumed that was the signal. However too confident to lose by surrendering, I decided to get a taste of her true wind power. I held my blade ready.
"Bring it on Kyuba!" I shouted.
In nearly a lightning-fast flash. I was restrained. As her tail also blindfolded me. My sword was removed from my hands. I heard the crowd shouting, however Alma Elma soon whispered. "You did great. But I think you're too serious at times. Here's a special reward for getting this far." Unable to see, I only feel my pants being removed and suddenly she began her special reward. The rest felt like a dream as I was . And I'm not gonna lie when I say I was ignoring the laughing and cheering of the crowd and focusing on Alma's reward. That was one hell of a blowjob.
After a short while she released me as I fell to the ground. Well if good things must end then that was a great way to end my time in the coliseum . Shortly after I recovered, gathered my things and began to head out of the castle into town I was greeted by Promestein.
"Had fun out there?" She asked.
"Well yes actually." I admitted. "I got to test my strength out, even fought the Heavenly Knight. Although I feel like I have a while to go before I can rematch her."
"Well you did well," She said, "We've gathered the information to confirm a disliking of violent tactics. The Next Dolls progress is coming along nicely. However we shouldn't discuss that here. Let's return to the Drain Lab." She then transported us back to the lab. "The reason I had you fight her was because I'm developing a force of Chimeras meant to deal with the Heavenly Knights and the Monster Lord. I needed two key components before they were all ready."
"These Next Dolls right?" I asked.
"Correct. You've met Hainuwelle, she is the counter to our Succubus Queen. At least she will be now with her battle data updated." She explained. "There are four others. However one of them needs one final item before we can complete her. Tsukuyomi, the counter of Tamamo, the Kitsune Queen."
"And let me guess, it's up to me to get something that has to do with Tamamo?" I asked. Knowing full well I might risk my neck again.
She then looked to me and smiled before saying, "Yes. I need samples of Tamamo's tails. You do know how to get Kitsune tail hairs without them disappearing right?"
I think to myself possible ways. "Wait for them to shed some fur on something or someone?" I asked.
"Yes and no, you can get the fluff to stick to you. Meaning you're going to need to have her tails wrap you up to collect samples." She explained.
"Wait I have to let another Heavenly Knight wrap me up?" I asked, "What's next do I have to invite Granberia to a candle-light dinner and sex?" I jokingly asked.
Without even a slight laugh Promestein stared cold at me, "You should be happy you get such pleasures for missions. Or I could always send you to one of the other Seekers." She suggested.
"Fine. I'll go find Tamamo and, 'Touch Fluffy Tail.' I guess." I said.
"What?" Promestein said as she looked at me confused. First time I've ever seen her actually looking confused about something.
"Touch fluffy tail..." I said again.
"What is that? What even is that?" She asked. "Nevermind! Probably a strange human-monster trend. You perverted humans. I gave you fire, you go play with Monsters behind Ilias' back. Go to Yamatai Village and gather the samples. And they better be of Tamamo's." With that strange moment over with she transports me to Yamatai Village. Although I was still confused at the 'Gave you fire' part.
As I arrived at the entrance to Yamatai, I found that it was similarly to how I researched the city when I planned my travels to go there. Humans and Monsters together. However in this case the Monsters are worshipped by Humans. I explored the village whilst searching for Tamamo. As I passed by a local man I decided it was best to ask him around the village.
"Greetings. I'm looking for Kitsune, where would I find them?" I asked.
"Ahh the Fox Shrine is the best location to start. The Mighty Fox is also in town today." He said, and pointed me in the direction of the Shrine.
"Thanks a lot!" I replied. And headed towards the shrine. Although I know how this might end between me and her, I still am quite eager to meet Tamamo. It's rumored her vast knowledge is only matched by her immense strength and power. I figured it would be a perfect opportunity to learn more about the world through the teachings of one who's seen many things. As I approached the shrine, I felt a power similar to Alma Elma's inside. "Definitely Tamamo in there." I thought to myself as I entered.
"Welcome!" A young two-tailed kitsune shouted to me as I walked inside.
"Hello, is a Tamamo in the building?" I ask.
"She's in that room there, although I'd warn you she's waiting for her food to be finished so she might be hungry." She warned me.
"Well I can pass the time for her. Thanks!" I walked in the room. Expecting some beautiful, Nine-tailed maiden of similar shape to Alma Elma, I look around and then see a short kitsune with Nine Fluffy Tails. "Erm, Are you Tamamo?" I looked at her, yes she still seemed powerful but she's almost as short as Chrome. Not that I don't mind short women just it's not what I expected from a Queen Kitsune.
"Yes, and who are you?" She looked at me and asked. Waving her tails.
"My name is Solomon. And, I hear your knowledge is very vast and I wish to learn something on the world's history from you." And honest answer. Maybe I can accomplish my mission and fulfill my goal at the same time.
She looked at me, staring at me as she examined me briefly. She then smiled and said; "Alright! I needed a time-passer before my Tofu arrived. But it will cost you."
"Of course! Any particular payment?" I asked. Expecting some sexual favor as her request.
She examined me and sniffed me before saying; "You're unbaptized? Good!" She smiled. "After our lesson you can feed me."
I wasn't even surprised. However it did give me an idea. I then requested; "Fine just, I hear rumors that a high-level Kitsune's tail is unmatched. May you prove that rumor true?"
She giggled and then said; "You bet it's true! I'll be sure to prove it afterwards. Now then, what do you wish to learn? I have time for two lessons and then your payment."
"Two huh?" I asked and thought to myself. What were two possible subjects that a Kitsune Queen could answer. Then I thought of the first one; "Do you know of the Great Monster War? Dated back 1,000 years ago?" A good first question. I've read about it but never heard a monster's viewpoint. Only that of hardcore teachings of Ilias. "From what I've read. It was between the Goddess Ilias, and a supposed Fallen Angel named Alipheese." As I finished the sentence, Tamamo looked at me as if I said something wrong.
"Fallen Angel? I forgot that's what Ilias told humans about Alipheese I. Man that's way off." She said, looking at me then continuing; "Look, what I might tell you will likely destroy your belief in Ilias. Although you might be like other humans and deny my word. Know that if you seek the truth, consequences often happen, and some will tell you something completely off what you believe in. Do you wish to continue?"
I thought about it, and explained; "That's precisely why I asked you. I've had... doubts in the teachings of the Goddess. And it's best to learn both sides of a tale. So please continue." It was the first time I admitted that I didn't particularly like Ilias' teachings to anyone. I kept that fact a secret. Even amongst my hardcore, religious family and my closest friends.
With a smile she began to explain; "Very well, but I must tell you an abridged version to be quick. The Great War was between The Goddess you know, Ilias and The Dark Goddess Alipheese. She was not a Fallen Angel. Their forces clashed on Earth. Endangering the planet. However Ilias was aggressive and desperate for victory whilst Alipheese was concerned about her creations and the Earth itself. After a long war, Ilias managed to agree to stay behind in the Heavens with her angels whilst The Dark God and the Six Ancestral Monsters sealed themselves away. Leaving Earth to the Humans and the Monsters. Afterwards however. The Goddess gained the Humans loyalty by posing as the victor of the War. Thus is why Humans worship her."
I almost dropped my jaw at what I heard. Ilias was a hoax? For a thousand years we've been worshipping her. It made me think of how expendable we are to her. I shook my head and looked at Tamamo. "Wow, I know you were right about humans denying such a thing. But if that is true..." I shuddered for a moment then continued, "Then heroes are just pawns sent to kill monsters in her stead so that she doesn't," Before I finished, Tamamo finished for me,
"Break the contract." Tamamo shook her head. "But I'm sure you know how that's turning out."
I thought about it, then realized. Heroes today are rather incompetent. Only Heinrich, the Legendary Hero has ever killed a Monster Lord. And that was 500 years ago.
"Would you like to know anything else? I'll answer one more question." She offered.
One more question. I thought, and then I remembered something. 'I gave you fire.' Promestein said she gave us fire. It's now on my mind. It might be a huge risk, but I figured a wise Kitsune tutor would have some general idea. Be it a legend, fact, or a hoax. But I couldn't mention Promestein. So I had to be less specific. I looked at Tamamo and asked; "Who gave the humans fire?"
Tamamo looked at me as if I said some forbidden word. "How did you hear of that legend?" She asked.
"I was told by someone that a being gave humans fire." I answered cautiously.
She looked upon me. Not breaking her intimidating gaze. She then began to speak; "When the Earth was young, humans we're primitive and savage. It was said someone or something came to them. And gave the humans fire. From the legend. It was confirmed to be a being of light. Ilias was involved in the advancement of human beings. So if it was an angel, it wouldn't be surprising."
My eyes opened in shock. An angel, that lab coat wearing angel. She literally gave us fire.
"Are you ok? You look like you just saw a Ghost Girl." Tamamo asked.
I shook my head. "I'm fine, I just remembered something personal and important. Let's end the lesson here." I said as I tried to stand. Suddenly, one of her soft, fluffy tails wrapped around me.
"Not so fast, my payment." Tamamo said with a grin. "After all you have to prove those rumors." She pulled me back down and wrapped her tails all over my body. The next short while, well I gave her what she wanted.
Several minutes later, I walked through the shrine somewhat exhausted. My clothes, covered in stray hairs from the fluff of those tails. Mission accomplished. However as I exited the Fox Shrine, I thought to myself. How am I going to get back to wherever that lab was? I looked around, searching for any sign of Promestein. I decided to check my backpack. I reached inside to find a strange device with a note. I unwound the note and began to read:
I gave you this in case of emergencies. It's a communicator, hook it up to your ear and press the button and let us know of your mission status. Laplace will know when to take you back to base then.
I hooked it up and pressed the button. "Hello? Laplace? It's Solomon, I got the samples." I said.
"Understood. Returning you to base." Laplace responded and I was warped back to the Drain Lab.
As I arrived I saw Promestein and Laplace discussing something with a new face. He or She, wore a black robe and a strange mask. However I only heard the end of their conversation.
"Excellent La Croix. You may return to your lab." Promestein said and the figure walked off, passing me by and observing me before walking away.
I walked towards Promestein and asked; "Who was that?"
"That was La Croix, one of my right hands. Chrome's sister." She answered.
"Huh, her sister eh?" I couldn't tell by the robes. They appeared cool however. "Well I got Tamamo's tail fluff all over me. What should I do?" I asked.
Laplace scanned me to ensure it was the right Kitsune. "Tail fur identified as High-Leveled, Nine-Tailed Kitsune. Tamamo's DNA confirmed. Hand me your clothes."
I awkwardly undressed and handed her my clothes. While I'm sure Promestein watched me being raped by Alma Elma, it still felt weird to undress in front of Laplace.
"Excellent work Solomon. Return to your quarters." Promestein ordered.
"Before I do that" I asked "May I ask you some questions?"
Promestein looked at me; "What is it now?" she asked.
I looked at her, knowing full well I could be punished harshly, but now I had to make sure what I heard from Tamamo was true. I bucked up and asked her; "Are you the angel who gave us fire? Like those Legends. Did Ilias order you to help humanity evolve?"
Promestein and Laplace looked at me shocked. Promestein then smirked at me and asked; "My my, just what did you and that old Kitsune do back there?" She then turned to Laplace, "Laplace, begin using those samples to upgrade Tsukuyomi. I have to give our assistant a little lesson." She walked towards me. I knew full well I was going to receive a punishment. And I was already nearly prepared to receive it.
I gulped and began to speak. "I was curious. You said your group is searching for knowledge and the secrets of the Universe. So I wanted to learn more myself."
Promestein stood before me, giving an unusual expression. I looked before her with slight fear. I had bothered her at times, but I was really afraid if I had actually made her angry. The number of artificial monsters, her other Seekers of Truth, Laplace, or even her supposed 'clients.' The sheer number of ways I could be disposed of we're popping up in my head. However my fear was soon replaced with utter surprise as she rested a hand upon my cheek and kissed me. "Honestly Solomon," she began to speak, "If you wished to know more about your master, you could have asked yourself. Risking your neck asking Tamamo of my origins. I do hope you didn't mention anything classified."
I couldn't even blink I was still surprised. I then responded; "Not really. I never mentioned your name or anything that could risk your plans being discovered. I only asked about the Great Monster Wars and of a legend of a being who 'Gave humans fire.'"
Promestein smirked at me, "Two questions I would have answered to the best of my knowledge." She said then turned to grab a syringe with a blue liquid in it. She turned to me and continued; "And I assure you I've researched many a detail on this world. I am seeking the origins of the Universe."
I looked at the syringe, "That must be from Undine?" I asked.
"It is named Grandine." Laplace stated. "Are you familiar with a Serene State Solomon?"
I tried to think about it. But I knew nothing. "I don't know honestly." I said.
Laplace began to explain; "A Serene State is a state of mind associated with the element of Water. Most Cursed Swordsman like the Heavenly Knight Granberia typically must attempt to master this at any point in their training."
"So like making your mind clear and focused? Seems simple." I said.
"Not quite." She continued to explain. "A serene mind is much more complex. Often taking years of training to even begin to utilize it. You project your mind outside your body to your surroundings. Detecting waves as a sort of flow. Using this, you can evade and strike more efficiently through prediction and empowering your strikes." As she explained. Promestein pricked my arm with the needle and injected Grandine within me. A strange water-like being soon appeared before me. Laplace then finished explaining; "Undine's power within Heinrich, amplified this power even further. Making his blade nearly unstoppable."
"That sounds difficult." I responded. "Mastering it alone. But making that into an artificial form that's mastered near instantly? It would seem highly unlikely."
"That is true. You won't have a perfected Serene mind like Granberia's collected data shows, but it's potential is still powerful. We must test it now Solomon." Promestein requested.
"Here goes," I said and focused. "Come Grandine!" I said. Suddenly as she appeared in my mind, I felt a strange sensation. A sort of flow moving around. I suddenly saw a wave move towards me and I quickly backed away to dodge it. Realizing that Laplace attempted to strike me. "Hey! What are you doing?" She didn't answer but attempted to attack me a few more times. All of which released waves towards me before they actually came. However I dodged the majority of them. Only being hit once. As one more strike came from her tubing I grabbed my blade and blocked it. Feeling the flow concentrating on my blade. My counter felt amplified. I felt Grandine's power fade as everything returned to normal. I looked at Promestein, smiling at the success of her latest experiment.
"Excellent work. For a human that is. Laplace was holding back however you definitely have improved using these Artificial Spirits." She said. "Return to your quarters to rest now." With that she turned around but stopped suddenly and turned back towards me. "By the way. Yes I did give the humans fire and helped in their evolution." She began to say. "But no, Ilias didn't order it. In fact I was punished for my deeds. Imprisoned for many years." She turned around before she finished saying, "Just to inform you Solomon, I could share my findings and research with you anytime in between your missions. But frankly, I feel like you can use what I've given you for so much more than being a so-called hero."
After that, she sent me off to my quarters. I thought about what she said. Using what she's given me. Does she think I have that good of a potential? I went to sleep, for I knew one Spirit remained, Salamander. And I felt like I needed my strength for the Spirit of Fire's domain.
Chapter 5: Technological Grangold and the Mountain of Fire.
I awoke the next day, to a strange sight. My clothes were pre-set for me. Unusual but I did admit to liking the style and design. A pair of black pants with a belt made for holding specific items, a red and black vest that felt slightly armored with a light, flexible material, and lastly, a black coat with new gloves and boots. I donned my new gear and grabbed my blade but noticed my backpack was missing. I searched around my room but decided to check if I left it in the main area. I headed for the door when Promestein entered.
"Good morning Solomon, I see you found your new uniform?" She asked.
"Good morning Master Promestein," I said, "Yes it's very nice. Thank you, but where is my backpack?"
"I preserved your records and notes and had that backpack disposed of." She answered.
"Why?" I asked. It was a gift, so naturally I felt bad about it being disposed of.
"Because, this is much better for you." She handed me a strange, black, box-like backpack. I opened it to find my stuff perfectly fine. "This new storage pack here will aid you in your travels." Although I still felt bad. I was still impressed by this new pack's durability and room.
"Woah, thanks!" I responded as I put it on my back. The black box soon beeped as a small arm extended out of it waving a hand. "What is this?" I looked at it surprised.
She smiled at my surprise. "Honestly Solomon, you've been here a while and are still in wonder about the technology." She said. "That, is your back claw. A third arm for aiding you in many uses. It can move freely, but it can also be controlled by your own will."
I focused and the arm began to move at my own will as she stated. "Amazing!" I said. "Wait, what's with all these gifts?" I asked.
"Gifts? Oh don't misunderstand," she said "These are necessities for important tasks. Come with me, I have two more things you should get." With that, we moved to the central room. Laplace stood by a pair of goggles and a large, sheet-covered object on a table. Promestein took the goggles and handed me them. "Try these on. Remove your glasses first."
I removed my glasses and wore the goggles. I was surprised to see the lens were made similarly to my own glasses. "New glasses? Kind of bulky don't you think?" I asked.
Promestein then shook her head. "They aren't for fashion you idiot." she said, "These goggles are high-tech scanners and eye protection." She pushed a button on the left side of them and they then filled my vision with various data of surroundings as they displayed in red coloring.
I looked at Laplace and suddenly various parts of her body were highlighted as data showed information on her. I read it carefully. "Interesting," I said.
"Your goggles will scan targets informing you on various data. They are based off our data-bases and your notes." Laplace explained. "However their scanners cannot detect angels. So Promestein and other potential angels you could meet you can't scan."
"I see," I responded as I looked at Promestein shortly before turning the goggles off.
"They also synergize with Grandine. You can scan whilst the serene flow is active to truly be ahead of your foes." Promestein mentioned. It seems she wants me well prepared for whatever my next mission is. "Your next piece of tech however, is still in production. It will be ready when your mission in complete I'm sure."
"Why are you giving me this?" I asked.
Promestein looked at me and then said; "You are surely a loyal follower. I trust you with these."
I looked at her, "You trust me?" I had to ask, I hadn't been here very long. So she had no reason to.
"Indeed. You are loyal, dedicated, and efficient. I can't afford to lose the potential aid you bring to the Seekers of Truth."
I smiled and nodded. "Then my next mission Master?" I asked eagerly. Feeling confidence after her praising of me.
Promestein began to give briefing; "Your mission has two parts. First: You must venture to Grangold. And retrieve a data report on my invention there. I had given that kingdom technology to control and create monsters there. Infiltrate the castle and head to the computer in the Queen Ant's chambers. She is being controlled by a prototype device of mine. Your new goggles will locate the device and show you what you must do."
I nodded. "So sneak into the castle and print a data report on the Queen Ant."
"Correct," Promestein said before she resumed; "Secondly: Enter Gold Volcano through a higher entrance away from monster view, and retrieve Salamanders energy." After she said that she pushed a button on my backpack as my back-claw retracted itself and my clothes shifted color to that of a normal professor. Similarly to Promestein's attire. "That will be your cloaking. I will warp you inside the city. Now off you go."
I nodded as Laplace handed me the extractor for the final time. I grabbed my supplies and proceeded to warp to Grangold.
Arriving in an abandoned alleyway, I entered the city streets. The city was in a bustle with humans and monsters. However, it was far different than Grand Noah. The monsters looked mostly artificial and alongside them as well were Ant Girls following humans around and doing all of the work. The artificial monsters were golems of various types of materials and sizes and are man-made which explains their labor but after remembering Promestein's mission I figured out that these Ant Girls are following orders of a Queen being controlled by Promestein's design. I began to walk through the streets towards the castle, seeing more lazy human workers and more hard-working Ant Girls. If an uprising happened by the monsters this city would be immediately conquered. I stopped by an Ant Girl and decided to try and talk to her.
"Hello. How are you?" I asked politely.
"Very busy! Keep working!" She quickly said and walked off back to her work.
I continued heading in the direction of the castle, even the guards were just slacking soldiers with Ant Girls at their posts. In front of the main entrance to the castle I rushed to a nearby secluded area and removed my disguise. I had to begin my mission now. After awaiting an opening I decided to enter through a second story balcony by climbing the vines on the sides. I entered through the fortunately, unlocked balcony door and hid behind a couch until a scientist entered the room to close the door I entered through. I rushed and grabbed him using the back claw to cover his mouth.
"Hold still." I said as he tried to struggle. I opened a closet and threw him inside, barricading the door with a chair. I reapplied my disguise and walked outside the room heading towards the first floor. Leaving my goggles unhidden I used them to scan the area downstairs.
"Two guards, three scientists, and four Ant Girls." I then turned off my scanner and entered the room in disguise hoping to gain access to the Queen's chambers. A guard noticed me passing by.
"You there? I haven't seen you before." He noticed me easily. I thought of a commonly used but believable lie.
"Oh!" I looked around playing innocent as I said. "I'm a new scientist. Just got out of the required training. I was sent to the Queen Ant's chambers to help out. Mind pointing me in the right direction?"
The guard looked at me. The Ant Girls merely looked at me before they walked off to patrol elsewhere. The scientists who would normally easily call my bluff were too busy and went to the next rooms. The guard finally pointed towards a door and said; "There's the basement entrance. You'll find our chief scientist there with the Ant Queen. Stay out of trouble." He then walked off as I headed towards the basement.
I headed down the stairs watching the scientist examine the machine as she made sure it was working. I remained hidden as I used the scanner on the machine. Right where she was standing was the device I had to use to retrieve the intel. I decided to try and approach her civilized and disguised. I walked up to her and acted like a 'new guy' would act towards a superior.
"Greetings! I am the new scientist. I was told to retrieve a data report from you involving the Queen Ant." I smiled as I said that. If she did caught on I will just have to pray to Ilias there is another closet to stuff more scientists inside. Aside from swarms of Ant Girls I can easily fight the castle guards.
The scientist looked at me and then said; "Oh well if that's all then let me get it right up for you." She turned around and before she began typing she immediately turned around. "Hey wait a minute! We don't hire new scientists and we also don't print reports on the machines regularly!" But before she can call security, I grabbed her and held her mouth shut while the back claw held her arms behind her back. I looked around and found a piece of torn wiring from an older machine and tied her arms up and used a cloth to tie her mouth shut.
"Then I guess I have to get it myself. Don't get up now." I said and headed towards the computer and used my goggles scanners. Steps on the button combinations to press appeared as I began inputting the commands to print a status report. Shortly after, a report appeared and I read it. I used the communicator to contact Promestein. "This is Solomon. Report has been obtained. Returning to base."
"Excellent work. Location tracked, retrieving you now." Answered Laplace as she retrieved me. I was soon teleported back to the Drain Lab.
When I arrived. I handed the report to Promestein. She read it over.
"Interesting, it seems the seal on the Queen Ant may go unstable within a few years." She said.
I nodded my head. "Well I already figured if the Ant Girls managed to rise against the people the city wouldn't last. They were very lazy and dependent on your designs it seems." I removed my disguise. "For the northernmost kingdom of Sentora and the most technologically advanced city, they sure had poor security."
Promestein shook her head, "It seems I now understand Ilias' reasoning behind her proposed idea."
"Idea?" I asked.
Promestein looked up at me, "It's nothing. Nothing concerning you. By the way we observed your mission." She pointed at the hand of the back claw. Revealing a small lens. "Very impressive, you only had to tie up two of the staff."
I looked up at the lens. "You watched me? I guess that's useful to do so but why would you do it? Don't you trust me?" I asked.
"I do trust your loyalty with these tasks despite being aware of what the humans in our experiments go through." She began to answer, "Although if you were captured, we'd have to be aware of your status. Don't think of it as spying or breathing down your neck, just as observing and preparing to retrieve you should you fail your mission." I had to agree with her, retrieving me in the worst case scenario would be best. Although I'm unsure of if I was devoured or murdered by a monster of how she would save me then. Promestein then moved to a table and grabbed a strangely shaped staff. Shaped like a wizard's only altered to give more of a feel like a sort of ranged weapon. She handed it to me.
"Alright, now your next mission has many high-threat enemies and Salamander herself will be able to see you throughout your time inside the volcano. So this is the perfect opportunity to learn how to use this." She said.
"What is this?" I asked as I grabbed the staff.
"A modified Trooperoid arm combined with a rare onyx colored metal utilized in constructing near-indestructible spears and staffs. Given modifications here and there." She said. "It's a Gun-staff by simplified name." I knew of her Trooperoids, having literal hundreds of them in reserve ready for deployment at her command.
I grabbed it and held it like a crossbow. It seemed to shine with a crimson light as energy gathered at the edge. "What does it shoot?" I asked, looking at its trigger.
"Electric bolts. Charged bolts can trigger paralysis." She answered, "You shouldn't get up close and personal with Lava girls, Basilisks or even Dragon Girls, so here's a means to keep them at bay."
I held it and aimed around the room. It felt heavy making it difficult to aim without two hands. "I'll have to swap between this and my sword often it seems." I used the back claw to grab it, having an easy time holding it up however. It then placed the gun-staff on a special clip hooking it to my backpack.
"Now then, it's a prototype so don't go breaking it." She said. "It's been tested and confirmed to have only a 1% chance of overloading. Which just results in power-failure. Even then, it's a tough material so you can give your foe a good smack with it. Although Laplace did calculate it having a 0.04% chance of making an explosion the size of Chrome's manor hideout."
"What?!" I jumped back. Those numbers were small. But still frightening.
"Oh don't be scared. I'll be sending you off now, experiment with that weapon when you can!" She said as she teleported me away. Almost noticing a faint, adorable smile at the joy of test-driving an experiment.
I arrived at the foot of Gold Volcano. The scent of smoke in the air as I looked up the large volcanic mountain. I noticed the normal cavern entrance at the base. I decided to search as I climbed the mountain for a different entrance. The device held by my back-claw slowly draining energy from Salamander. Carefully climbing I reach a small cavern entrance halfway up the volcano.
As I examined the cavern, a figure walked out towards me.
"Oh, what's a human doing all the way out here?" Said the figure as she revealed to be a Basilisk, a very famous monster that turns people to stone. But through saliva. My goggles scanned mostly around her mouth confirming her method of petrification through saliva. "What luck! I'll play with you then." She smiled as she slowly approached me.
Thinking fast I aimed my gun-staff and called Zylphe. "If you know what's good for you, you'll just be leaving." I said. Basilisks are scarcely seen outside mountains, but I knew it would be a tough fight.
"Well I guess I'll just have to make you a statue for my amusement." She said as she lunged towards me with her mouth opened. But I dodged and smacked her with the gun-staff. I quickly jumped back and shot her with a small bolt. She immediately jumped at the sudden electric shock hitting her. "Gah! You shocked me!" She yelled out.
I looked at her, pleased to see it worked. "Wow! This is quite useful." I took aim and wanted to try a charged shot to test its paralysis.
"You got lucky, but you're mine now." She lunged using her mouth again. I dodged and charged a bolt and fired it at her. Not only did it shock her and damage her, but her body was made stiff by the voltage. She was unable to move. "I'm stuck!"
"That's it!" I swapped to my blade and used Zylphe's power to thrust forward quickly striking her and knocking her back. I thought of using it's paralysis to set up perfect attack combinations with the artificial spirits. "Now away with you!" I yelled out.
The Basilisk stood after her paralysis faded and looked at me shocked. "Gah! You're too full of electricity. I might get shocked to death playing with you." She ran off down the mountainside, leaving the cavern entrance unguarded. I entered the cavern slowly. Until I received a communicator call by Promestein.
"Forgot to mention. You have a light source in your gun-staff. the flip switch. Good luck." She then hung up. I didn't know what was worse, the fact she waited until I was several steps in a dark cave to remember, or that an angel who has lived since humans were primitive and savage and remembered literally hundreds if not thousands of years of scientific research forgot to tell me other features of her technology.
I flipped the switch to find the light very bright. Easily illuminating the cavern. I wondered if that bright light could flash and cause blinding to close-up targets. I soon didn't need the light as I was inside the volcano, I stood at a cliff as the elemental extractor began rapidly filling. The heat immense as I was inside the volcano itself. Smoke was rising from below blocking my sight in some areas. I looked down and discovered two high-level monsters through the scanner. The smaller of the two labeled as 'Threat: High' and the other labeled as 'Extreme Threat: Approach with caution' as stated by the scanner. They appeared to be having a conversation.
One gave the appearance of a young girl but covered in flames. Scan confirmed her as Salamander herself. The second of the Spirits I have seen now.
The other however, as soon as the goggles gave a clear image of her I nearly jumped back. A dragoness, a swordsman of fire, a powerful monster feared by many man and monster alike. Without a doubt it was Granberia, of the Heavenly Knights. The two knew each other it seemed. Although the volcanic smoke prevented me being seen, I could still hear the conversation from afar.
"So you lost to Aliphese the 16th in the end? And if you had won what would have happened then?" Asked Salamander.
"I would have given the throne back. I had no interest in becoming the Monster Lord anyways. I thought I had the upper hand. But she soon turned the tables and defeated me." Granberia Answered. It seems Granberia challenged the Monster Lord for the title. But would have given it back.
"That's just like you Granberia, to always be eager to see the potential of a good fighter." Salamander said, "You're all grown up but still the same." It was difficult making out their expressions but it seemed they have been friends a long time.
"Honestly Salamander. I'm not a child anymore." She said but sighed. "But I still respect you as my teacher. Despite surpassing you."
The extractor was nearly completely full of Salamander's energy however I soon heard Salamander speak again;
"We aren't alone. I can feel, a slight draining of my power. I can sense a human inside the volcano." She immediately looked in my direction. "He has strange power, we can't let him get away. My energy in human hands. He could have dark intentions."
I grabbed my gun-staff and prepared to leave after hearing that. I fortunately heard the now familiar 'Extraction Complete' voice. But then I hear a shout from afar as I aimed towards them to stun one of them in the event of them catching up to me. I slowly began a charge of a paralyzing shot. Facing the two.
"Demon Decapitation!" Granberia had shouted as I suddenly see her jump clear across the volcanic pit and the smoke towards me holding her blade. Nothing but absolute fear filled me as I looked up at her about to swing her blade clear at my neck. I released my charged shot not a second to early or late, shocking her and sending her falling right in front of me. Paralyzed, she could only look up at me as I immediately used the communicator.
"Mission complete! Pick me up! Pick me up! Pick me up now! Please she's going to murder me!" I yelled quickly panicking. As I began running away before being teleported back to the drain lab.
I was teleported mid run as I ran past Promestein and stopped suddenly seeing the Lab instead of Gold Volcano. I quickly handed Promestein the extractor and fell over, nearly fainting as I tried to catch my breath.
"What happened? You sounded like you met an angry Dark Goddess." Asked Promestein.
I merely looked at her panting still before saying; "Volcano... dragoness... nearly died..."
Promestein turned towards the monitor to view the recordings of my mission playback to see my near-death experience with Granberia. "My word. You could have died back there." she commented. "Nice shot though. I'm glad to see my technology has strengthened you so well."
I re-watched that experience and fainted shortly after. Unable to believe or handle the fact that a Heavenly Knight just charged at me like that and I lived.
Chapter 6: Black Alice meets Solomon, now a Seeker of Truth.
I suddenly awoken in a forest. Humans near me seemed strange. Wearing little to no clothing, they ignored me as they traveled like a hunting pack. Savoring a fresh kill of a raw deer they killed with spears. I then realized these humans were savages, eating the deer raw. They could have cooked it, make it less risky to eat. Suddenly a flash of white light appeared as a young angel descended holding a torch of fire. However the flash of light shining behind her hit my eyes and as I flinched back I found myself waking up in my bed, minus my clothing.
"What was that dream?" I asked to myself as I rubbed sleep out my eyes.
Feeling stiff as I awoke, I dressed and headed towards the center hall. There awaited Promestein, La Croix, and Laplace having their usual meetings. I stood back and let them finish before approaching Promestein.
"Good morning Promestein." I say as I approach her.
"Ah, Solomon. We were just talking about you." Promestein said, "And it's the afternoon, normally you don't oversleep when I require your services."
"Ah! I'm sorry." I bow my head as I apologized.
"No need to stress yourself, I had injected the artifical Salamander, Gigamander, inside you whilst you were fainted. However I had Knightroid test it instead." Promestein said. "I also required a few samples, so I proceeded to extract them."
"No wonder I felt stiff waking up." I looked at her. Obviously knowing she extracted my energy through sexual means. I then noticed what appeared to be several containers on a large cart of sorts. "What are those?" I asked.
"Your next and final task as part of our deal." Promestein answered. My final task, I had almost forgotten that I agreed to help her to spare my life. It had been weeks since I first arrived.
"What shall I do then?" I asked.
"These are hundreds of mass produced Artificial Spirits. My partner's forces are ready to receive them to prepare for their next action." Promestein looked towards me and asked. "Do you know who my partner is?"
I thought to myself, then attempted to guess; "Ilias herself?"
"Incorrect. Angels may not fully be capable of utilizing these artificial spirits." Promestein answered.
"Then the opposite of Ilias. The Monster Lord?"
"Why yes. Do you know of the Monster Lord that the hero Heinrich killed?" She then asked.
"Black Alice? I read she was considered unmatched in power and a powerful tyrant. But she was killed 500 years ago." I said. "Right?" I had a dark thought in my mind. What if Promestein went out of her way to revive Black Alice for some plan?
"Well your mission is to accompany me with the Artificial Spirits to my partner's domain. There are many very high leveled monsters within. So stay close to me. I have convinced her not to attack you, but if her minions cross the line you may use non-lethal force in self-defense." She said. In self-defense was good enough. As it's in my better nature to not upset her allies.
"Yes Promestein." I said as I held the cart. We teleported out of the lab.
We arrived at the entrance to a dark cavern. As I entered I followed Promestein closely. We soon entered a large open area. Several high leveled monsters were seen. A trio of Vampires, A tall, pink-haired one in black robes. The other shorter and by appearance younger with white hair and less clothing, and the middle of the three blonde, and dressed in regal clothing. A Queen Vampire, truly a rare sight. Nearby were Spider-girls, the larger of the group wearing a Yamatai kimono and having purple hair and dark eyes. Across the clearing, I saw a mermaid and her young daughter and next to them a high-leveled succubus with black hair. They looked at us but remained silent as a figure appeared in the middle of the room.
She was of fair height with long blonde hair and red eyes. Wearing a long, blue and white dress and holding a teddy bear. A dark aura radiated from her. Even her teddy bear appeared to have a more intimidating appearance than most of what I've encountered so far.
"Promestein, so you've arrived." She said and then looked at me. "So this is the human you requested us not to harm? He isn't entirely weak it seems. Maybe worth my time to play with. He is smart to be afraid however. We'd normally torture or kill any human who actually walks into this area."
I looked at her, I had every right to fear her. Despite her young appearance, she appears to lead this entire group of monsters.
"Black Alice. Here is the artificial spirits. They are being mass produced now, thanks to my subordinate's efficiency." Promestein said. Hearing that name, I immediately figured it out. Black Alice was revived, and she is now working with Promestein. "Solomon, bring Black Alice the Spirits."
"Yes Master Promestein." I cautiously approached her, her subordinates examining me. With so much as a slight signal any of them would be allowed to kill me. It's a former Monster Lord I'm dealing with. So I should at least speak to her as royalty. As I approached her, I decided to present the spirits to her as if she were a queen:
"Here you are Lord Black Alice." I said then had bowed before her.
She merely raised an eyebrow at me, then proceeded to giggle. "A human with manners? My my, I've killed easily hundreds if not thousands of your kind. Are you that afraid of dying?" She said and looked at me. "I do respect that 'Lord Black Alice.' I am no fake Monster Lord."
"Well Lord Black Alice," I said also making sure to refer to her as 'Lord' due to her former status. It seems my plan worked. "it's an honor meeting you." I walked towards Promestein. Black Alice soon spoke up;
"Your subordinate is quite a fun human Promestein. Perhaps he should stay here some time and me and him could play." I immediately widened my eyes in shock and began sweating nervously. Her idea of play is very likely to be involving painful and fatal ideas towards me.
"The offer is tempting Black Alice, But I haven't had him step out of line to the point where you'd get to have him... yet." Promestein said. Extremely grim for her to mention that this is a possible punishment. "I need all of the Seeker's of Truth for both our plans and my own. This includes him so please do not kill him."
I had returned to Promestein and stood at her side. Hearing what she said, she included me along with Laplace, Lily, Chrome and La Croix. My fear was immediately replaced with a joyful feeling.
"Farewell for now Black Alice. We shall meet again when Ilias calls us to Heaven." Promestein said as we warped away. But as we arrived at the Drain Lab, I immediately realized everything.
Ilias... Promestein... Black Alice... The Goddess, The chimera-constructing Angel who started humanity's evolution and desire for knowledge, and the 8th Monster Lord. All in an alliance? It sounded crazy but I realized now it's the truth. I could only look at Promestein as she faced away from me.
"You realized now what and who I am working with?" Promestein asked.
"Ilias and Black Alice... together." I quietly said.
"And you know just what their goals are?" She asked.
"Destroying the current Monster Lord. Angels, Monsters, and your Chimeras in an army." I said.
"And now you know, what happened to Remina." She said. The Slaughter of Remina. A massacre of immense proportions in the former largest city in Hellgondo. Thirty years ago the town was wiped out in a massacre.
"You did it?" I asked.
"Alongside Ilias' troops." She said and turned to fact me, all the doors suddenly closing. Promestein revealed her angelic wings and halo. "Which means, you now know too much Solomon."
I backed away slowly. As an angel, I'm unable to even touch her. "We had a deal." I said. Unable to even believe what's happening.
Promestein smirked and said; "We had a deal. But here's a new deal. Your knowladge and power are growing faster than I predicted. Join me, as a permanent addition to the Seekers of Truth."
I thought about it, it seemed like a great offer. I had to ask however; "What about my friends and family?"
"You must chose Solomon, Knowledge and Power, or risking the lives of many to return to your own life." She answered.
I thought about what she said. If I did escape, I have little knowledge of how to return home and it seems she is willing to pursue me and endanger others. I then bowed my head, I closed my eyes, and answered:
"I choose to pursue knowledge. At your side Master Promestein."
Promestein only smiled as the doors opened. She then approached me and moved to the side as the lab entrance was before me. "Then we have much work to do. Your training and studies begin immediately." I nodded my head and walked through the doors, Promestein followed, and from this point onward, I was now to be known as:
Solomon, The Seeker of Truth.
